If there’s one thing we love more than apps, it’s different cultures. We have a ton of language games helping people learn languages from all over the world. In this series, we look at some of the locations that fascinated us so much that we created language games for them. They are helpful for students, teachers, and travellers. Last time, we looked at Hungary. This week, let’s take a look at Portugal.
Portugal is a country on the Iberian Peninsula in Southwestern Europe. You’ll enjoy travelling in Portugal since it is the 5th most peaceful country and has the 18th highest Social Progress in the world. And if you’re looking for a perfect summer getaway, these amazing beaches from Portugal will surely delight your eyes and calm your soul.
Praia do Guincho
Praia do Guincho is located in the District of Lisbon. The beach is famous for surfing, windsurfing and kitesurfing because strong north winds are predominant during summer time which is from June to August. The beach was featured in the pre-titles sequence of the James Bond movie “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service” in 1969. The beach is also known for windsurfing world cup events and the Portuguese National Surfing and BodyBoarding Championships.
Praia da Rocha
Praia da Rocha is a beach located in the southern section of the municipality of Portimão, Algarve, southern Portugal. Since 2005, it is the event place for the beach soccer tournament “Mundialito de Futebol de Praia”. There are small caves to be explored along the cliffs and rocky formations to capture good photos. This beach is an ideal place for sunbathing and relaxation.
Praia do Castelo
Praia do Castelo is located 6km from Albufeira, in the Algarve, Portugal. It’s a tucked-away beach made up of the main beach and several small satellite beaches and coves. The beach is somewhat secluded and cannot be easily found, but adventurous travellers find ways to be there to witness its gold sand, high jagged cliffs, and the watchtower that was built in the mid-16th century.
Praia da Adraga
Praia da Adraga is a North Atlantic Beach in Portugal, near the town of Almoçageme. It is hard to reach by public transportation, but it’s a favourite tourist spot because of its beauty romantic scene of sunsets and renowned seafood restaurants tucked under the cliffs.
Praia da Marinha
Praia da Marinha is located on the Atlantic coast in Caramujeira, Lagoa Municipality in Algarve. It was voted as one of the 10 most beautiful beaches in Europe and as one of the 100 most beautiful beaches in the world because of its azure seas, stunning cliffs, high quality of water, and outstanding natural qualities.
