An article entitled “Anyone Can Make An App, But Without ASO–Don’t Bother” was written by Eric Wroolie, Owner & Founder of Overpass, and he stated that:
“You can have the most brilliant and sophisticated app in the world. But if no one can find it, you might as well have not even bothered creating it.”
That statement is so true that some developers have already experienced being depressed about their apps which they have invested money, time and effort but went nowhere. So it’s a fact that Optimisation plays a big part of getting downloads for your apps. The next question is how can you make your app stay in competition when thousands of apps are being released every day. How can you make users download your app and love it?
Overpass has been in the industry for 13 years and counting. Through those years we have come up with different ways on how to creatively make our apps known, and still finding new ways, but here are some of the creative ways on how we do it:
-
We use social media accounts to reach out to different kinds of people.
Social media websites are home to people in different walks of life. Every day, Overpass posts updates, news, trivia and reviews about the apps, because keeping the users informed makes them feel always involved.
-
We release a new video every week.
Eric takes the time to film a video every week and publish it on YouTube. The video tackles everything about apps. He answers questions from viewers and teaches them how to deal with some issues and scenario.
-
We highlight good reviews and comments.
We make sure that reviews from users don’t go unnoticed. We publish articles about reviews and even make quote images for those and publish them to our social media sites. This is a creative way and a heart-warming gesture of telling our users that what they have to say matters to us, whether good or bad.
-
We make use of Infographics.
We publish an infographic once a week. Not just to keep our users informed, but it’s a way to get readers link back to our website and get more ideas about our apps. Infographics are easy to understand, nice to look at, persuasive and embeddable.
-
We use email marketing and provide a newsletter.
Email marketing can reach targeted potential clients and keep existing app users by consistently sending them the newsletter, as long as it is done in an organised way.
There’s a lot more to be done, and I’m sure we can still find more creative ways to market our apps. We are committed to creating good software/apps, help users find them and make them love the app in every way.
