Pretty interesting and delicious, right?! However, before you try those scrumptious dishes, here are some of the Chinese Dining Etiquette that should know:
- The people of China consider using knives on the dining table as inappropriate. They use chopsticks instead for cutting and picking up food.
- Do not put the chopstick into the rice vertically because it resembles a funeral tribute.
- You should not hold the bowl with its bottom part because it resembles the act of begging.
- The youths should not sit at the table before the elders, and they can only start eating when the elders have already begun eating.
Aside from the dining etiquette, you may also want to learn some Chinese words and phrases to make your travel and food trip experience more exciting.
